attendees chatting at 35th anniversary event

NH SBDC turned 35 years old on May 1, 2019.

On May 7th we hosted our 35th Anniversary Celebration event in the Great Hall of UNH’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, our institutional host since our inception in 1984.

Eight NH SBDC clients showcased their businesses, offering artisan popcorn and hand-crafted chocolate, info on heating panels and a disruptive technology for sports enthusiasts, photos of an energy-saving lighting project and cards for life coaching practices, and onsite video services and samples of a natural honey cold remedy. Paul College students showed their research project about NH SBDC’s return on investment (ROI).

UNH President James W. Dean, Jr. and Paul College Dean Deborah Merrill-Sands spoke, and we watched video messages from Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, and one featuring both Congresswoman Ann Kuster and Congressman Chris Pappas.

Liz Gray, NH SBDC State Director, and Adria Bagshaw, Board Chair, offered remarks about our history, ROI, and strategic plan. Kate Peters, Eversource, announced a two-year grant to NH SBDC for clean energy and energy efficiency education for small businesses.

NH SBDC unveiled our 35th Anniversary 2018 Impact Report, encompassing our programs and services, our staff team and Advisory Board, testimonials and quotes from NH SBDC clients, and messages from our federal and state partners. The Impact Report also shows our $147M total annual impact on the NH economy, together with our 10-year economic impact and client demographics.
