While she’s a CPA by trade, Hollis McGuire does not rely solely on numbers when providing guidance to her small business clients. They’re a useful tool for sure; one she uses often when collaborating with fellow SBDC business advisors to assist their clients. But, for Hollis, being an SBDC advisor is more about using her broad lens of experience to listen and learn from her clients, providing them the space and guidance to figure out where they want to go in their business.
Her approach is holistic, embracing all the quirks that make every human unique to guide her clients on the path that’s right for them, while also using her expertise in financials to assist them in navigating important decisions.
Hollis is here to make change, using her love for small businesses and decades of experience to provide meaningful guidance that helps businesses to thrive and stabilize communities. With her assistance, client companies have collectively obtained over $100 million in funding.
Through her work, she has received many awards such as: the 2006 Outstanding Women in Business Award, a NH Woman of Achievement Award in 2009, the SBDC Service Excellence Award in 2010, and the 2015 NH State Star Award.
