NH SBDC is very excited to announce that Wendy Hunt, President & CEO Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, will become the NH SBDC Advisory Board Chair in early July. She joined the Advisory Board in the midst of the pandemic and her vast network, enthusiasm for supporting small businesses, and creative ideas will undoubtedly help lead SBDC to new heights.
UNH Paul College Dean Deborah Merrill-Sands will be stepping down as Board Chair when she retires from UNH next month, after serving as Chair since 2019. She supported SBDC as we navigated the challenges of COVID and helped embed SBDC and our clients into more UNH programs. We are very pleased that she has agreed to remain on the board as Chair Emeritus.
A former practicing attorney from the State of Florida, Wendy has found her true passion in New Hampshire non-profits, especially chambers of commerce. In May 2017, Wendy became the CEO of the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce, and then in February 2020, she was the catalyst that brought together two long-standing chambers to form a new regional Chamber of Commerce: The Greater Merrimack-Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce.
In March 2020, under Wendy’s leadership at the Chamber, GMSVCC gave struggling businesses the support, tools, resources, connections and business education that they needed. As board chairman of the New Hampshire Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, she facilitated a strong partnership with the NH Small Business Development Center.
In March 2021, Wendy became the President & CEO of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce. She says, "I am honored to serve as Advisory Board Chair. I have seen first hand how much SBDC helps small businesses, and am excited to lead the board in guiding the organization over the next few years."
SBDC looks forward to working with Wendy in her leadership role as Advisory Board Chair, too!
